Publication Ethics

Jurnal Rekayasa Teknologi Komputasi (JRTK) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This policy is aligned with the principles and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

All parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, reviewers, and publisher—are expected to adhere to ethical standards and responsible research practices.

1. Author Responsibilities

  • Reporting Standards: Authors must present accurate and objective research findings. Data must be represented honestly and sufficiently detailed for replication.
  • Data Access and Retention: Authors may be required to provide raw data and must retain data for a reasonable time after publication.
  • Originality and Plagiarism: All work must be original. Proper citation is required for all sources used.
  • Multiple or Concurrent Publication: Simultaneous submission to multiple journals is unethical.
  • Acknowledgment of Sources: All relevant works must be properly cited.
  • Authorship: Only significant contributors should be listed as authors. All authors must approve the final manuscript.
  • Hazards and Human/Animal Subjects: Ethical clearance must be stated where applicable.
  • Conflict of Interest: All financial or other conflicts must be disclosed.
  • Errors in Published Work: Authors must promptly notify the editor if errors are found.

2. Editor Responsibilities

  • Editorial Decisions: Decisions are based on academic merit and relevance.
  • Fair Play: Evaluation is conducted without discrimination.
  • Confidentiality: Manuscripts must be treated as confidential.
  • Conflict of Interest: Editors must avoid handling manuscripts with conflicts.

3. Reviewer Responsibilities

  • Contribution: Reviewers assist in editorial decisions and manuscript improvement.
  • Timeliness: Reviewers must respond promptly or decline if unable.
  • Confidentiality: Manuscripts must not be shared.
  • Objectivity: Reviews must be objective and evidence-based.
  • Acknowledgment of Sources: Missing citations must be identified.
  • Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must decline if conflicts exist.

4. Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

  • AI Use by Authors: AI tools may assist with language or analysis but authors remain fully responsible. AI must not be listed as an author. Any substantial use must be disclosed.
  • AI Use by Reviewers: Confidential manuscripts must not be uploaded to AI tools. AI may assist language editing only.
  • AI Use by Editors: Editors must not upload confidential materials to AI systems. AI may assist administrative tasks only.
  • Confidentiality and Accountability: Ethical responsibility remains with human participants.

5. Handling Misconduct

The journal will investigate suspected ethical violations in accordance with COPE guidelines. Actions may include rejection, correction, retraction, or notification to relevant institutions.

6. Post-Publication Responsibilities

Corrections, retractions, and expressions of concern will be handled in accordance with journal policy and COPE standards.
